The TePS-project in words and video: our joint mission zero to sustainable aviation

Sido Kermans - CTO

The world of sustainable aviation is developing systems that work quietly in the background
but are crucial to the future of flying. These air management and thermal management
systems will be hidden inside the aircraft. Unless you are an aeronautical engineer, you will
probably never see them, but their impact is undeniable. They play a vital role in making
sustainable flying possible.

Let me, Sido Kermans – CTO of Aeronamic, explain to you why these systems are so
important and how we at Aeronamic are pushing the boundaries of aeronautical engineering.

At Aeronamic we are proud to be leading the TePS-project of Luchtvaart in Transitie, a
ground-breaking collaboration between the University of Delft, the University of Twente, The
NLR, Collins Aerospace and Aeronamic. Each partner brings specialist expertise, from
modelling and design optimization to manufacturing and testing. This multidisciplinary
approach ensures that we cover all aspects and find the most effective solutions. Together,
we are focused on developing innovative air and thermal management systems needed for
more electric aircraft and the next generation of sustainable aviation.

Our focus is on two critical areas: air management, which ensures the correct air supply to
fuel cells, and thermal management, which prevents overheating and ensures the reliability
of advanced electronic systems on board future aircraft.

New and innovative air and thermal management systems are essential for sustainable
aviation. Without them, future hydrogen fuel cell or electric propulsion flights are simply not
possible. These systems must be both effective and efficient to meet the demands of modern
aviation. To achieve this, we combine advanced technology with hard work. Our team is
made up of experts, including PhD level specialists, who use advanced modelling to optimize
these systems for maximum performance.

From concept to reality, we work closely with aircraft OEMs and Tier 1 integrators to ensure
our systems meet all the necessary specifications. Our goal is to see these air and thermal
management systems on board future aircraft platforms, contributing to a cleaner, more
sustainable future for aviation.

Our dream? To fly without feeling guilty about our impact on the environment. At Aeronamic,
we are working to make this dream a reality by developing systems that enable sustainable
aviation. Together, we can make the world a better place, one flight at a time.
